A portrait of Carl Jung's Shadow Mother
Daily Deviation, 2008-04-26

Daily DeviationA heavy, disturbing psychological portrait... a dark, brooding Madonna. Absent for some time, this deviant's gallery shows a development of the work's depth... and she was even going into tattooing! Makes one wonder what she's up to now. also, a very well painted image, though I wish I could see it a little more clearly... looks not quite leveled correctly :(

Wow very nicely handled. Long time no see (my fault). I've been experimenting with oils and I have a few questions. First, what kind of medium do you use? Linseed oil, turpentine, or perhaps something else? Second, how do you create your flesh tones? Mine always end up green or just brown. Lastly, what kind of brush do you use? Any particular brush tip?

The only difference between me and a madman is I am not a madman.
Masterful painting=) Is the shadow mother related to Jung's idea of the shadow generally? Or is it something different?
strangely beautiful, is the women sad because she cant have real children?
I saw this work in person a few years ago in Tampa, I believe it was. It entranced me then and it entrances me now.
It's just beautiful! Quite amazing.
Glad I could see it again! Congratulations on the DD!
